Celebrating International Women’s Day Everyday

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, we celebrate the amazing women who make our world a better place. In this article, we want to take a moment to recognise all the important women at Xiatech and let them know how much they mean to us. 

We are proud to support the ways that help women break down barriers in tech, such as mentorship and networking, and show celebration when it needs to be recognised. Without the fantastic women across our teams, Xiatech wouldn’t be where it is today.

Here are a couple of statistics about women in technology that may surprise you: 

• Only 26% of the UK’s workforce employed in the technology sector are women
• The good news is the number of engineers has increased from 10.5% in 2010 to 16.5% in 2020 

After digesting these statistics, we took some time to think about why we should celebrate women’s achievements and what it means to us as a company. Is it to encourage more high-calibre women to join Xiatech, or is it to encourage more women to consider a career in technology? Ultimately, we decided it wasn’t for any reason other than it is right to thank the women across our company for everything they do!
