The Role

This is a dynamic and pivotal role for a highly motivated and independent individual eager to become an Xfuze ‘super user’, capable of delivering end-to-end, data-driven solutions for our clients.

This is a key role for us, and our future Principal Implementation Engineer will be instrumental in shaping and delivering impactful outcomes for our customers. You’ll work with our clients from initial requirements gathering, perform in-depth business analysis, to data integration, and configure the platform. You’ll directly contribute to client success by leveraging your strong communication, analytical, and technical skills.

You will likely have a background in data and/or integration, strong communication skills and a natural ability to lead others. This role will suit someone driven by business outcomes, solving complex problems and delivering end-to-end.

Ideally, you have already worked on a data/integration or a complex Enterprise SaaS platform in a professional services team, and have a track record of delivering successful projects. Technical expertise in all areas is not required, but willingness to learn and flexibility are key.

• Leadership & Delivery – Take full ownership of solution implementation and deployment, leading the team through every stage of the process. Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes

• Product-Led Configuration & Implementation- Develop deep expertise in Xfuze across all domains, including connectors, data, models, insights, and more.

• Consulting & Client Engagement – Act as a trusted advisor to guide clients and oversee solution delivery with a consulting mindset, ensuring milestones are met and project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead other Implementation Engineers, helping them to grow and leverage Xfuze features to deliver outcomes for our clients.

• Own the discovery, design, environment, releases, supportability and fit for operations end-to-end. Take responsibility for the solution acting as the gatekeeper to review and approve designs produced by other Senior Implementation Engineers.

• Play an active role in estimating and supporting the Delivery Leads and Product Owners to drive the projects to completion.

• Collaborate with Client Partners and Sales teams to validate technical feasibility and provide expert estimation during the bid phase.

Product Implementation

As an Xfuze super-user, you will be configuring, extending, deploying, testing and validating solutions end to end for our customers:

• “Adopt, Don’t Adapt” Philosophy – Take a “Standard First” philosophy and rigorously challenge requests for bespoke customisation.

• Data Analysis & Validation – Analyse, explore, test, and validate data while engaging with clients to understand data structures and use cases.

• Product Development – Identify gaps in the product, models or components – coordinate internally with the platform team to resolve.

• Xfuze Implementation Design – Produce high-level designs to drive implementations that effectively leverage Xfuze, utilising standard templates to ensure consistency and best practices. Scrutinise and approve low-level designs, config specs and code snippets.

• Implement – Undertake the complex implementations including custom plugins, complex logic, extension of data models, leaning onto field experts (data engineers, platform developers…)

  • Connector Configuration – Set up and configure connectors (e.g., Shopify, Akeneo, Bloomreach, Optimove).

  • Workflow & Transformation Setup – Build and configure Xfuze workflows and data transformations.

  • Custom Transforms – writing small code snippets to transform data.

  • Data Mapping – configure, extend and map data using Xfuze.

  • Business Intelligence Dashboards – Create, extend, and configure Power BI dashboards leveraging Xfuze data layers.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance – Conduct rigorous testing and validation of solutions by supporting the QAs.

Consulting & Client

• Participate in commercial proposals and implementation strategy.

• Understand client landscape, systems and use cases.

• Offer advice to the client on best practices and approaches.

• Steer the client towards the best implementation path to fit their business objectives

• Work with our clients to analyse data-driven business processes, check data, and design solutions. Manage key client Stakeholders such as Solution Architects or Heads of Engineering / Development / Data.

• Produce documentation and training guides for other Implementation Engineers.

• Advise on the best approach to leverage the Xfuze platform and achieve high-quality solutions.

• Act as the “Voice of the Customer” to advocate for repeated custom work to be moved into the Core Platform roadmap.

Your Knowledge & Experience

Must Have

• Leadership – Independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented; able to drive initiatives to completion.

• Communication – Exceptional written and verbal skills; confident in presenting to clients and internal stakeholders of all seniority.

Should Have

• Business Analysis – Skilled in capturing requirements, analysing use cases, and translating them into practical solutions.

• Data Modelling & Transformation – Strong knowledge of data modelling with the ability to design complex models.

• Programming & Software Engineering – Competent in Python or similar languages for writing functions and plugins (not at an expert level).

• Databases & SQL – Intermediate SQL skills required.

• Cloud – Proficient with at least one cloud environment.

• Domain Knowledge – Retail experience preferred; must possess expertise in at least one complex domain.

Desirable

• BI & Dashboarding – Proficient in Power BI or similar tools, or able to learn quickly.

• Technical Understanding – Good technical understanding of modern architectures and leading data platforms.

• Integration & Data Warehousing – Hands-on experience configuring platforms to deliver complete customer solutions. Prior experience with Boomi, Mulesoft or a similar integration platform would be beneficial.
